Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president, arrived in Seattle on Monday evening ahead of a Tuesday campaign stop.

Walz’s plane touched down at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport around 8:50 p.m. Monday. The campaign and the state Democratic Party previously said he would arrive at Boeing Field, before a late change of plans.

Drivers were advised to anticipate traffic disruptions along the motorcade route from the airport to a hotel for an overnight stay ahead of a private fundraiser in Hunts Point at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Specific travel routes for Monday and Tuesday were not released ahead of time by the campaign. Walz has a heightened security detail as a vice presidential candidate, and the Secret Service has the authority to require intermittent closures of freeways and streets during visits.

Walz’s visit to Washington is happening with less than a month to go before Election Day and on the heels of his first and only televised debate last Tuesday night with former President Donald Trump’s running mate, U.S. Sen. JD Vance, a Republican from Ohio.

Walz’s visit, which includes no public events, will be short as he is expected to travel to Sacramento on Tuesday afternoon.
