A new bridge over Montlake Boulevard Northeast opened Wednesday, joining the University of Washington campus to next year’s Link light-rail station. Sound Transit estimates as many as 3,000 people per hour will cross at peak times, by 2030 — not only transit riders but bicyclists and pedestrians going from the Montlake Bridge to the Burke-Gilman Trail.
