A semitruck driver was taken into custody Friday on suspicion of DUI after a collision on Highway 167 in Algona left four people injured.

Commuters faced an hourslong traffic delay as authorities investigated the crash and crews worked to clear the semi that was flipped on its side blocking all northbound lanes near Ellingson Road.

The Washington State Patrol said the semi jack-knifed after it rear-ended a pickup at about 1 p.m. The road reopened shortly before 5 p.m.

The driver of the semi is suspected of driving under the influence, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson. Photos released by the State Patrol showed the cab of the semi crushed against the concrete median.

Four people were treated for injuries, according to Valley Regional Fire Authority. No other details were immediately available.
