The FAA requires the closure of I-90 for the safety of drivers and pilots.
The Blue Angels are back this year at Seafair, which means the Interstate 90 bridge will be closed several times this week.
I-90 will be closed to all vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, eastbound and westbound, mainline and express lanes, between Island Crest Way on Mercer Island and Interstate 5 in Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) website.
- Thursday: 9:45 a.m. – noon; 1:15 – 2:40 p.m. (Practice)
- Friday, July 31: 11:50 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. (Practice)
- Saturday, Aug. 1: 11:50 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. (Full show)
- Sunday, Aug. 2: 11:50 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. (Full show)
The bridge highrises will still be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.
The Federal Aviation Administration requires the closure of I-90 while the Blue Angels practice and perform for the safety of both drivers and pilots, according to WSDOT.
