A Tacoma gang member implicated in a shooting that killed a woman and wounded her brother nearly two years ago was found guilty of first-degree murder today by a Pierce County jury.

Eduardo Sandoval, 22, was one of six Eastside Lokotos Surenos (ELS) gang members charged in the killing of 20-year-old Camille Love, who was shot while driving down the street with her brother in February 2010.

Love was targeted because her car was red, a color associated with a rival gang believed to be responsible for a previous shooting, according to the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. Her brother also was wearing a red jacket, the office said.

Three other men charged in the killing pleaded guilty to charges last year. Outstanding warrants have been issued on the other two defendants, whom authorities say may have fled the country.
