A pilot suffered minor injuries in the crash of a small plane at the Renton Municipal Airport Thursday afternoon.
According to Renton firefighters, the pilot was the sole occupant and was able to climb out of the damaged aircraft.
The pilot had non-life-threatening injuries, including “scrapes and abrasions,” said Erik Wallgren, Renton’s deputy fire chief. The pilot was taken to Valley Medical Center to be evaluated.
Firefighters cleaned up spilled fuel and wreckage from the runway, Wallgren said.
The airport was temporarily closed.
