The legendary garage rock band The Sonics signed autographs Wednesday for a long line of fans. Among items signed were the band’s first studio album in almost half a century, titled “This is the Sonics.”

The group opens a tour at the Moore Theatre with Mudhoney on Thursday.

“They were a seminal band and they influenced a lot of movements in the ’60s and ’70s,” said fan George Nugent, who talked of The Sonics’ impact on the grunge scene. “They have this raunchy, down-and-dirty, in-your-face sound.”
