Seattle had more than 12 hours of daylight for the first time this year on Monday, but it’s not time for sunshine just yet. Expect some rain as we usher in spring this week.

Intermittent showers will continue into Tuesday, National Weather Service meteorologist Kayla Mazurkiewicz said.

Monday afternoon and evening brought heavier rainfall across Snohomish and King counties, with snowfall in the mountains. Tuesday may prove to be a bit drier, Mazurkiewicz said.

Things get a little wetter again once Wednesday hits, just in time for the first day of spring on Thursday.

An incoming system will bring another round of lowland rain across the region with some mountain snow that will persist throughout the rest of the week heading into the weekend, Mazurkiewicz said. “It’s kind of just a domino effect. There’s system after system.”

Temperatures in Seattle will stay moderate, with highs in the high 40s and low 50s throughout the week, according to the weather service’s seven-day forecast, while lows will rise from the mid-30s to the low 40s through the week.
