The five female members of the Seattle City Council appeared on “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” last night for a segment mocking the misogynistic comments they received after a vote that dashed hopes of a Sodo sports arena.

M. Lorena González, Debora Juarez, Lisa Herbold, Kshama Sawant and Sally Bagshaw were announced, basketball-player-style, as a team called the Seattle Seawards (pronounced “C-words,” natch) — a nod to their reasoning that building an arena would threaten maritime jobs at the Port of Seattle.

“Ports before sports,” declared Bee, who also reminded Seattle fans, “If you love basketball so much, you could buy a Seattle Storm ticket once in a while.”

Warning: The videos do not censor the foul language hurled at the council members. (They do, however, censor the names of the people responsible, so if you planned on trolling the trolls, you’re out of luck.)

At the end of the show, the councilwomen read some of the galling messages they’d received.

The closer was reminiscent of a video posted by a website called Just Not Sports, in which men read vitriolic tweets aloud to the female sportswriters who had received them.
