Vice President Joe Biden will visit Seattle this month to headline a political fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Patty Murray.
Biden will be the featured speaker March 21 at Murray’s annual Golden Tennis Shoe luncheon, Murray’s campaign announced Tuesday.
That could kick off a busy week for candidate visits and political rallies in the Seattle area as the state’s Democratic caucuses — pitting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton versus Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders — will take place five days later on Saturday March 26.
Tickets for the Biden event will set back donors at least $150; they top out at $3,000 for 10 “Gold Table” seats. Proceeds will go to Murray’s re-election campaign and the state Democratic Party.
First elected in 1992, Murray is seeking a fifth term this year. She’s being challenged by former state Republican Party chairman Chris Vance.
Biden last visited the state in 2014 for a tour of Renton Technical College and a political fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell.
