Jinyoung Lee Englund, the Republican candidate in the race for a key Washington State Senate seat, is recovering after getting bit by a pit bull while campaigning door-to-door on Sunday.
Englund, who is running against Democrat Manka Dhingra in the 45th Legislative District, posted a photo of herself on Facebook in which she was smiling and holding up a bandaged right hand.
“Had a minor hiccup doorbelling today — got bit by a pit bull and had to go to the ER,’’ she wrote in the 6:30 p.m. post on Sunday. “It was incredibly frightening and I would like to thank Bruce, someone I had just met, for giving me a ride to the ER, the team at EvergreenHealth and Scott, a member of my team, for their help in making sure I’m ok.”
Englund, who appeared to be standing in an elevator when the photo was taken, said she was “heading home to start it all over again tomorrow.”
The 45th district includes Duvall, Woodinville and parts of Kirkland and Redmond.
