The effort to save The Stone Cottage — to move it before a wrecking ball comes in to make way for condos — continued Friday.
Workers readied the Depression-era house in West Seattle, decorated with stones from the beach near the Alki Lighthouse, for an eventual road trip and what many hope is a long life.
Save the Stone Cottage is raising money to dismantle, store, restore and find a new location for the cottage, somewhere on Alki. Read more about the mission and the history of the house.
