A hang glider was found dead in a tree Sunday near Tiger Mountain Road, according to Eastside Fire and Rescue.

The department reported an active rescue about 30 feet up in a tree near the 25900 block of Southeast Tiger Mountain Road on Sunday evening. The department first reported the person was unconscious and unresponsive, but a few minutes later reported the person was dead.

King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Eastside Fire and Rescue initially said the person was paragliding, but confirmed Monday they were hang gliding. The 911 call came in as a paraglider, the department said on Twitter, but it was a fixed wing hang glider.
