Police in Bellevue, Wash., say a suspicious package that closed down a transit center for about 45 minutes and disrupted several bus routes contained only torn-up paper.

KOMO-TV reports (http://is.gd/EzKlkw) that police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate says the shoebox was X-rayed Thursday afternoon and found to contain torn-up court documents and other papers.

Earlier in the afternoon a bus driver reported she had picked up a passenger who was carrying a black box. The driver said she had seen the passenger kicking the box at the bus stop.

The passenger later left the bus. When the vehicle arrived at the Bellevue Transit Center, the driver saw that the box was still onboard, though in a different area than where the passenger had been sitting. The driver notified authorities of a possible suspicious package. Police and a bomb squad responded.
