BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — The trial for a man who prosecutors say killed an Idaho teenager 25 years ago has been delayed until the fall.
The Times-News reports a judge on Monday agreed to move Gilberto Flores Rodriguez’ murder trial from April 20 to Sept. 9.
Rodriguez was arrested last year after a witness testified in court that he was with Rodriguez when Regina Krieger was killed in 1995.
Krieger was 14 when she disappeared from her Burley basement bedroom. Her body was later found on the banks of the Snake River. Officials said she had been stabbed in the heart and her throat had been slit.
Rodriguez has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder. The trial is expected to last up to four weeks.
