SWEET HOME, Ore. (AP) — Four people found dead Tuesday in a Sweet Home residence destroyed by fire were either shot or stabbed before it was intentionally set ablaze, police said.

Sweet Home police said Thursday afternoon that police found a gun, a sharp, blunt force instrument and a torch lighter near the bodies, KEZI-TV reported.

After the fire was put out Tuesday, rescue personnel found the bodies of 63-year-old John Shobert, 41-year-old Tiffany Shobert, 15-year-old Johnathon Shobert, and 2-year-old Charlotte Shobert, police said.

All lived at the home south of Portland in Linn County. There’s no indication the public is in danger, according to police, who said no one is being sought in the case.

Autopsies were done by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office Thursday, and causes of death have been determined. That information is being withheld until family members can be contacted and additional investigation is completed, police said.
