WASILLA, Alaska (AP) — A passenger died and another was critically injured in a one-car rollover crash on the Parks Highway east of Wasilla.

Alaska State Troopers just after 4 a.m. Tuesday responded to the crash in the highway median between Trunk and Hyer roads.

Two passengers had been ejected from the small car. One was dead and a second was in critical condition.

The driver suffered less serious injuries.

The injured passenger and the driver were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. The critically injured patient was transferred to Providence Hospital.

Troopers did not immediately release names, ages and hometowns of the crash victims because next of kin had not been notified.

Troopers say speed and alcohol likely were factors in the crash.
