A man was critically wounded in a shooting late Sunday night near Northgate Mall, according to Seattle police.

Seattle Police Detective Jeff Kappel said the shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. in a bar in the 500 block of Northeast Northgate Way.

The victim, who was shot in the side suffered life-threatening injuries, was taken by Seattle Fire Department medics to Harborview Medical Center.

By the time officers arrived at the bar, the assailant had fled with several companions.

Kappel said police are looking for a silver or white Chrysler 300 four-door sedan with low-profile tires and large rims. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Seattle police.
