A Lynnwood High School senior, Brandon Doyle, was identified Monday as the driver killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Mill Creek.  The 17-year old was believed to have been driving at a high speed when his car went off the roadway in the 2700 block of Seattle Hill Road and struck a tree.

In a letter to families, Lynnwood Prinicpal David Golden described Doyle as “well liked by staff and students. Those who knew Brandon knew him as a friendly, respectful young man who was devoted to his academics.”

Doyle was scheduled to graduate in June. Counselors were at the high school Monday to help students deal with their classmate’s death.

An assembly planned for Monday to celebrate the Lynnwood girls basketball team’s first-ever state championship Saturday night was postponed to give students time to grieve.

Mill Creek police spokesman Sgt. Sean Conner said police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
