Friends say a 19-year-old former Lynnwood High School student was among the 12 young adults hospitalized after attending a party in Roslyn on Friday, according to the student’s friends.

Mollie Xitco, who knows the student through the high-school jazz choir, said the student was not the partying type — she focused on grades and in high school was a member of Teens Against Tobacco Use.

Police are investigating whether the hospitalized partygoers, who were mostly underage students at nearby Central Washington University, in Ellensburg, were given tainted drinks.

Another of the Lynnwood High School graduate’s friends, Isaac Aguilar, said he had talked to her on the phone on Monday and she was doing fine but was tired.

Aguilar described her as responsible and said she was “usually the first one to make the adult decision.”

Aguilar is a senior at Lynnwood High and said he’s considering going to Central Washington University next year. If he does attend, though, he said he’d keep the Roslyn incident in mind.

“It opened my eyes that this could happen to anyone,” he said.
