Bellevue police identified 30-year-old Song Wang on Saturday as a suspect in the homicide of a woman whose body was found inside a burning apartment unit on Tuesday, according to a news release issued Saturday night.
Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to reports of a sprinkler activation on the sixth floor of the Avalon Meydenbauer apartments, in the 10400 block of Northeast Second Street, Bellevue police spokesman Seth Tyler said at the time. After extinguishing a small fire, firefighters found the body of a woman with “obvious signs of homicidal trauma,” he said.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the woman’s name or her cause of death.
A warrant has been issued for Wang’s arrest, according to the police news release, which described him as an Asian male, 5-feet-8 and 160 pounds. Police consider Wang armed and dangerous and believe he might have fled to Oregon.
