Homicide and crime-scene investigators responded to the park after a passerby found the body around 5:30 a.m. near Lake Washington Boulevard and South Orcas Street, close to the swimming area and Andrews Bay, police said.
The cause of death was not immediately apparent and will be determined by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the Seattle Police Department.
The man was arrested during a traffic stop and booked into King County Jail on investigation of homicide, police said Thursday evening.
Homicide detectives are looking for witnesses and asking people with information to call 206-233-5000.
