One man is dead and another man is injured after a vehicle crashed while being pursued Thursday by police in North Seattle, authorities said.

The pursuit began after police received a 911 call, in which operators could hear an argument involving at least a man and a woman, shortly after 3:45 a.m. near Northeast 130th Street and 32nd Avenue Northeast, Seattle police said.

A few minutes later, police said 911 operators received another call from two residents in the same area who said they heard two men screaming and arguing before a gunshot, according to police.

The first officer who arrived in the area reported seeing a Honda speeding away, police said. That officer then followed the Honda, which police said sped through stop lights and signs before heading south on Lake City Way Northeast.

By that time, more officers joined the pursuit — which in total lasted about three minutes — until the driver crashed into two parked vehicles in the 7800 block of Lake City Way Northeast, police said.

Police then found the man, who investigators believe was the Honda’s driver, dead on the roadway and an injured man in the rear of the vehicle, police said. The extent of that man’s injuries are unknown.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will formally identify the dead man.

Police released dashcam footage of the incident Thursday afternoon that shows the chase and immediate aftermath, though the crash occurred out of the cameras’ views.

Investigators ask anyone with information on the incident to call the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad at 206-684-8923.

In April, two men were killed during a high-speed police pursuitthat ended at Highland Park Way Southwest in the Delridge area, where the car crossed the centerline. A 16-year-old carjacking suspect died when his stolen Honda Accord crashed into another vehicle, killing its 21-year-old driver.
