Police have arrested two suspects they believe were involved in a Fife shooting that left a man dead Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the 3800 block of 62nd Avenue East around 6 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire, according to the Fife Police Department. Police believe the two suspects followed the victim home from work. When he got out of his vehicle and was approaching his building, police said, the suspects allegedly robbed him. The victim and the suspects exchanged gunfire, and the victim was shot.

When police arrived, they found a “Good Samaritan” performing CPR on the victim, police said. Officers took over to continue providing treatment, but the man died at the scene, police said.

No further information about him was immediately available.

Police said the suspects fled the area, but later went to an Auburn hospital to seek medical treatment for one of the suspects’ gunshot injuries. The suspect who wasn’t shot was taken to the Fife Police Department to be interviewed, and was later arrested on investigation of murder.

The second suspect is in police custody at the hospital.
