Police are investigating the deaths of two people found in an apartment across the street from the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
Two women were found dead in an apartment across the street from the University of Washington campus, Seattle police said.
Police said late Tuesday there were no suspects outstanding and no threat to the public, but declined to otherwise categorize the incident. Detectives said the case was in the hands of the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officers found the bodies when they were responding to a call from a building manager about 9:30 a.m., according to a Seattle Police Department blotter post. In an initial tweet, police said they were responding to a stabbing with injuries.
The bodies were found in an apartment in the 123-unit Malloy Apartments, 4337 15th Ave. N.E. A Seattle police patrol car and a small cluster of reporters were gathered there Tuesday around 1 p.m. when the King County Medical Examiner’s Office removed a body from the building. The Malloy, a historic seven-story brick building, sits across from the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture.

Homicide investigators are trying to determine what happened and whether there were other people involved. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded to aid in identifying the women and the cause of death. Police have not released any other details or information about the victims.
The University of Washington sent out an emergency alert around 9:30 a.m. advising students of a stabbing and urging them to avoid the area. The UW is between summer and fall sessions.
