Two teenage girls lured a 15-year-old boy into a car and drove him to an Auburn apartment complex where he was robbed and stripped of his clothes by three others during an attack the group videotaped, police said.
Police originally reported Tuesday that the boy had been kidnapped Monday at gunpoint, but on Wednesday said the investigation indicated the boy had not been taken against his will or forced into a vehicle.
The two teenage girls were arrested in Auburn on Monday, and police are still looking for three others, all male, officials said.
Police said they were called to the Promenade Apartments in the 1200 block of Southeast 312th Street about 2 p.m. on Monday after the teen escaped and sought help. He reported that he’d been abducted, assaulted and stripped of his clothes and cellphone as his attackers filmed the attack, police said.
“The victim was able to escape and was chased for a short time by the suspects before they returned to their car and left the scene,” police said in a post on Facebook on Tuesday.
Officers quickly found the vehicle and saw several of the suspects flee. The two teenage girls were quickly taken into custody after officers tracked them with police dogs, officials said on Tuesday.
