22-year-old woman shot in Everett

A 22-year-old woman is in the hospital in serious condition after being shot early Tuesday in Everett.

Officers responded about 1 a.m. to the intersection of California Street and Cedar Street after 911 calls of a female being shot. Two men were seen running from the scene and are believed to be involved, according to a news release from the Everett Police Department.

The area was contained and police searched with a K-9 unit but the suspects weren’t found, police said.

Detectives from the major crimes unit are investigating.

Earlier reports from police said the victim was 17 years old.
