Scientists from Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center working on an HIV and AIDS vaccine will be featured Tuesday in a VICE documentary on HBO.
Scientists from Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center who are working on a vaccine to potentially halt HIV and AIDS will be featured in a new documentary on HBO Tuesday.
“Countdown to Zero,” a VICE special report on HBO, airs at 9 p.m. on Dec. 1, World AIDS Day.
The documentary features Timothy Ray Brown, the first person in the world cured of HIV infection, and scientists from Fred Hutch.
The documentary was filmed in part on location in Seattle and includes Dr. Larry Corey, principal investigator of the Fred Hutch HIV Vaccine Trials Network and a former president of the institution. It also features Dr. Julie McElrath, director of the Fred Hutch vaccine and infectious-disease division.
