The weekend forecast for the Puget Sound region calls for stiff winds and maybe a bit of snow.

Blustery wind, frigid temperatures, towering waves — … and that’s just Saturday.

Western Washington could be in for some crazy weather this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued high-wind advisories — winds of up to 30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph — for the Puget Sound region for much of Saturday.

Saturday night, frigid air is expected to swoop in, bringing the possibility of up to half an inch of snow to Seattle, the weather service says.

But the real snow will come to the Cascades, where up to 3 feet is possible.

Meanwhile, the coast will be battered by high winds and waves up to 25 feet tall.

Things start clearing and warming Monday, however.
