A driver escaped with only minor injuries Tuesday morning when his vehicle flipped in the express lanes of westbound Interstate 90 west of Mercer Island, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver’s car clipped the carĀ it was following and rolled. Distracted driving may have contributed to the crash, said Trooper Chris Webb. The injured man was transported to a local hospital.

All lanes were blocked at one point, causing major delays in the morning commute. Two other incidents on I-90 contributed to the traffic mess.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, Webb said.
