Seattle police say they arrested a 20-year-old woman Thursday night just minutes after she held a knife to a man’s face, demanded his car keys and cellphone and stole his car.

The victim told police he was in the drive through lane of the Jack in the Box in the 9100 block of Rainier Avenue South when a suspect leaned in his open window, brandished the knife and took the keys from the ignition.

The victim tried to get someone to call 911, then ran across the street to a Safeway where he found an off-duty police officer working security. The off-duty officer reported the incident and police responded immediately, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Officers located the suspect within minutes, across the street near Rainier Avenue South and South Fisher Place. The suspect had a knife and victim’s keys in her pockets, police said. They said the victim’s cellphone was located in some nearby bushes. The woman was taken to King County Jail, where she is being held on investigation of robbery.
