Entrance to most of the nation’s parks and other federal lands is free this weekend in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., whose birthday is being observed as a national holiday on Monday.
Day-use fees will be waived from Saturday through Monday at recreation lands managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation.
The only exception is SnoParks, which will still require a use permit this weekend. Fees for camping, cabin rentals, heritage expeditions or other permits will still apply.
