Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire early Saturday that destroyed the showroom of a Bellevue auto dealership.
Lt. Richard Burke, spokesman for the Bellevue Fire Department, said in an email Monday morning that the investigation is still underway.
The fire at AutoNation Ford of Bellevue, 411 116th Ave. N.E., was reported just before 3 a.m. The fire destroyed dozens of cars inside the showroom, Burke said.
Firefighting teams from Mercer Island, Redmond, Kirkland and Eastside Fire helped battle the blaze.
The building has been stabilized and heavy equipment has been brought to the scene to help find the source of thee blaze, Bellevue fire said. Investigators will be on scene for a several days sifting through the large piles of debris.
More than 70 people were employed at the dealership, according to the fire department.
The dealership was formerly known as Prestige Ford.
