OLYMPIA — A single Discover Pass — the new recreation pass that allows vehicle access to state lands — is now good for use with two separate vehicles.

Created by the state Legislature last year, the $30 annual pass was designed to help keep state parks open, with 84 percent of revenues going to that agency. It is required for parking in state parks, or on lands managed by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, or state Department of Natural Resources.

A news release from the agencies said that surveys indicated more people will support the pass if it can be transferred between two vehicles.

Gov. Chris Gregoire signed the bill into law Friday, and the change takes effect immediately. Holders of previously issued annual passes may enter a second vehicle license number on the pass.
