A 17-year-old was arrested Tuesday morning after his 45-year-old mother was killed at a home in the Northgate area, according to Seattle police.

Police were called to an apartment in the 900 block of Northeast 105th Street just before 8 a.m. with reports of a possible homicide. Officers found the woman with severe injuries, but the SPD did not disclose in an initial news release how she was killed. She was declared dead at the scene.

The woman’s 17-year-old son was arrested at the scene and was expected to be booked into jail later Tuesday. Further details weren’t immediately available.
