The city of Seattle acquired Kubota Garden, a historic landmark, in 1987. It was the display garden of master landscaper Fujitaro Kubota, who started it in 1927 in South Seattle. Visitors can tour the 20 acres for free, year round, during daylight hours. The garden is at 9817 55th Ave. S., on the corner of 55th Avenue South and Renton Avenue South.
