Washington looks just as majestic from above.

NASA astronaut Jeff Williams shared images of Olympic National Park and Mount St. Helens earlier this week, taken from the International Space Station. The images were photographed in May this year.

In the image of Olympic National Park, clear weather revealed the snow-speckled peaks. Seattle and Tacoma can be seen in the distance, along with Hood Canal.

The image of Mount St. Helens allows a look inside the crater, where the world’s youngest glacier is forming. In 2004, the volcano began spilling magma again as a dome grows inside the crater.
