Four children were found safe in Cheney, Spokane County, shortly after authorities in Seattle issued an Amber Alert for them Tuesday evening.
The children had been ordered to be turned over to Child Protective Services. Police were concerned the children’s father was fleeing the state after withholding needed medication from the children, according to Seattle police. Case workers had also reported that the father had made threats of physical harm. The children were “deemed to be in imminent danger by a King County judge,” according to police.
The children’s parents were questioned and released, according to Seattle Police. The children, who ranged in age from 7 to 16, were safe, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson.
