Seattle is getting new nonstop flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Incheon International Airport in Seoul starting Sept. 12, Alaska Airlines announced Tuesday. That’s just in time for the start of Chuseok, also known as Korean Thanksgiving Day, in early October, the airline noted.
On Wednesdays through Sundays, travelers can catch a flight from Sea-Tac at 3:25 p.m. and arrive in South Korea at 6:50 p.m. local time the next day. Return flights from Seoul will leave at 8:50 p.m. and arrive at 3 p.m., on Mondays and Thursdays through Sundays.
Alaska Airlines set a goal to offer nonstop flights on long-haul widebody aircraft from Seattle to at least 12 global destinations by 2030. The airline recently merged with Hawaiian Airlines in a $1.9 billion deal. Seoul and Tokyo were first on the list to offer because Hawaiian Airlines already serves those two markets.
Daily flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita will begin May 12, the airline said.
