Two people were killed and one person was injured after a car hydroplaned on Interstate 90 and was struck by another car Saturday near Snoqualmie, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Roadways were slick, as Western Washington was hit with its first storm of the fall season this weekend.
According to the State Patrol, a driver and his passenger were heading east on I-90 around 3:45 p.m. when the driver lost control of his car. The car crossed into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by an SUV near State Route 18.
The car’s driver and passenger died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries.
All westbound lanes and all but one eastbound lane of I-90 were closed for about three hours following the crash.
