Kent police are searching for two people who fled the scene of a fiery crash that killed a 13-year-old girl on Sunday.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. in the 9700 block of Canyon Drive. Witnesses said a red car and a silver car crashed into each other, and the silver car caught fire from the impact, according to a statement from the Kent Police Department. The girl was found dead inside the silver car after flames were extinguished. Occupants of the other car were taken to local hospitals.
Witnesses said two other people were seen running away from the silver car after the crash, according to police. They were not found afterward. Early investigation suggests the driver of that car had been going the wrong way in the westbound lanes of traffic when the crash happened.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim Tuesday as Sabrina Ali and said she died of smoke inhalation.
