One of the two men who died in the head-on crash on Highway 167 on Monday was a new father, en route to the hospital to pick up his girlfriend and their newborn, the Tacoma News Tribune reported.

The man, Jerry Neal, 28, of Bonney Lake, was driving the SUV that crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a car driven by Gregory Stevens, 30, of Puyallup.

Stevens was on his way home after running errands when the crash occurred.
