Seattle school district and union still divided on pay less than 2 weeks before school starts

Teachers and members of the Seattle Education Association, the union representing 6,000 Seattle Public Schools educators, wave signs at the S. Albro Pl. overpass in South Seattle early Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Things are heating up, and the stakes are high because last year the district just narrowly avoided a teacher’s strike. Others were at the Northgate overpass on I-5, doing the same thing. 211171

Union bargaining member Kate Eads said she was “skeptical” the parties could pull things together that quickly.
