Rioters looted stores and hurled rocks and bricks at Baltimore police Monday, injuring several officers, just hours after thousands mourned Freddie Gray, the man who died after suffering a severe spinal injury in police custody.
After rioters set fire to a Baltimore building and police cars, and threw bricks at officers, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard to restore order. A weeklong, daily curfew was imposed in Baltimore beginning Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
