What started out as a birthday party for Patrice Bell turned into a simultaneous celebration of Bell and the release of the highly anticipated “Black Panther” movie.
Bell posted on social media that maybe friends would want to see the movie, but word quickly spread, leading to some 500 people wanting in on the event. Event planning is what Patrice Bell does for a living as proprietor of Elle Belle Productions, so she quickly went to work booking two screens for Friday at Regal Cinemas at Northgate.
Bell said she always likes to do something special for her birthday, and took on the challenge to do something big this year as the movie and her birthday coincided. The event took on the air of a Hollywood premiere, with attendees dressing festively and enjoying food and champagne.
