In one form or another, I sensed we all need to engage in a radically different conversation about how the skin we present to the world influences the way we think, the choices we make, the connections we forge and the way others react to us. But I didn’t know where to begin. “Black Like Me,” inspired by an important book on race of the same name, represents my search for a more honest accounting of who we are and what really makes us tick.
