I deeply appreciated the column by Monica Hesse, “Ignorance and the female body.”

Without any overwrought language, and using interesting and informative material, she created a compelling critique of laws concerning women’s reproductive systems that are not fact-based. I wish this column could be placed in front of every legislator in the country, whether national, state or local.

People’s opinions will undoubtedly differ based on their values, but at least we should debate the issues without resorting to myths, misunderstandings or disinformation.
