We have a $50 billion and growing trade deficit with a communist country that targets our industries with overwhelming state resources and the best political-science professors can do is call President Donald Trump a “despot” for attempting to do something about it?

Presuming we all agree that it is important for the United States to have a manufacturing sector, I would like to hear ideas on how to better the situation. If not negotiating a better balance with the typical tools, then what?
