I’m sorry, did I just hear former Seattle police Chief Adrian Diaz come out while smack-dab in the middle of facing allegations from female officers of discrimination, harassment, and maintaining a hostile work environment? [“Former Seattle police Chief Adrian Diaz speaks out against allegations,” local news, June 17]
Diaz’s claim that there is no correlation between the timing of his tearful coming out and the allegations of misconduct is repugnant. His declaration of being a member of my LGBTQ+ community should in no way obfuscate the process of addressing the allegations against him.
