Benjamin Gonzalez O’Brien kills his own argument defending sanctuary policies when he says “studies … refute any connection” between sanctuary status and crime. I don’t think most people expect a statistically significant change in crime rates to be caused by a sanctuary approach, but the anecdotes are sufficient to convince most that it is a mistake.

We all need to be law-abiding citizens for a successful society. Sanctuary policies undercut that.
